Prisms Of perspective
Going beyond the illusionary landscapes of precious bodies of work Prisms Of Perspective delves into a sharper focus with more abstract forms. Beginning with a single image as referential material Anna makes multiple photographic compositions. The images consist of varying viewpoints of the same essential elements. By deconstructing her original image she depicts unexpected vantage points of similar structures. Working within the constraints of a 2-D format these images provide a multilayered understanding of a single subject.
Inherent in this manipulated perspective is an awareness of a consistent duality. The concrete structure rendered in paper, the once purposeful structure now an aesthetic object, the longevity of the documentary photographic archive in opposition to the disposable built structure. This work explores our complicity in that which is temporary — identifying what we value and what we discard.
